LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT

As a community of Faith, we can begin to show our solidarity with our First Nations neighbours by acknowledging that we meet on Treaty 4 territory which is the traditional land of many peoples, including the Cree, Saulteaux, Assiniboine and Metis Nations.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord of the dance, creator of whirling winds and shimmering flames, move in us this day. Breathe life into our songs of praise. Set our hearts ablaze to your word. May our worship bring joy to you, Lord. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.

ALL TO WORSHIP:

L: Our feet move because of your great worth!

P: Yes, Lord, we dance for the rest of our days!

L: Our hearts rejoice in song because of your goodness!

P: Yes, Lord, we sing for the rest of our days!

L: Our voices cry out because of your glory!

P: Yes, Lord, we shout for the rest of our days! We praise you always for the rest of our days! AMEN.

HYMN #820 VU Make A Joyful Noise

Confession and Forgiveness

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.  Amen.

Merciful and gracious God, help your people, making us leave sin and live only for you. Give us the power of your Holy Spirit to admit our sins, accept your pardon, and grow into the completeness of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.

Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. Almighty You have called us by name, Lord, and made us your family. Yet we do not always live as one body in Christ-we neglect to care for your creation; we forget that our neighbor is also our sister; we ignore suffering children in lands far away. Forgive us, we pray. Loosen the chains we place on our lives-chains of burden and busyness, chains of ignorance and stress. Free us to care for your family, that we all might dance, sing, and praise your glorious name! Amen.

SUNG RESPONSE: #948 VU (twice)

O God, hear my prayer, O God hear my prayer: when I call answer me.

O God, hear my prayer, O God hear my prayer: come and listen to me.

We belong to the king of glory who joyfully sets us free. In Christ’s healing hands, you find forgiveness. In Christ’s healing touch, you find forgiveness. Glory be to God! Amen

SUNG RESPONSE: #95 MV How Deep the Peace (twice)

How deep the peace, the confidence, of those whose wrongs are forgiven.

How deep the peace, the confidence, of those whose hearts are healed.

Passing the Peace of Christ (Ephesians 1)

We are adopted as God’s children through Jesus Christ. We sit next to a sister, even when we know her as friend. We sit next to a brother, even when we think him a stranger. Turn now to your family in Christ and share with them signs of Christ’s love and peace.

Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. Almighty and magnificent God, we approach you today carrying numerous thoughts and emotions. This week has brought us moments of joy and celebration; yet, we find ourselves overwhelmed by worries, doubts, and fears. These negative feelings overshadow your teachings, rendering us like barren soil, incapable of growth. Grant us tranquility. Continue to shower us with your love, for we deeply crave it. Forgive us when we let pessimism suppress your message. Sow once more the seeds of peace, love, hope, and joy, so that we may serve as better disciples in a world that endures so much suffering. Amen.
